National Lifeguard training builds on the fundamental skills, knowledge and values taught in the Bronze program to develop the practical skills and knowledge required by lifeguards. Prerequisite(s): 16 years old by exam date. Bronze Cross and STANDARD FIRST AID certification (Lifesaving Society, Red Cross, St. John Ambulance, Canadian Ski Patrol). Your SFA certification need not be current, but it is a MUST HAVE! The Lifesaving ALERT Manual is required. The Alert manual fee ($46.00) will be charged at registration.
Note: The Carleton U Student 25% program-fee discount does NOT apply to this certification program.
This course will run on (7) Sundays (4:30-8:30 pm): May 7, 14, 28, June 5, 11, 18, 25 and (5) Wednesdays: May 31, June 7, 14, 21 (5:00-8:00 pm) & June 28.
There is no NL class scheduled on Sunday May 21 (Victoria Day weekend).
The NATIONAL LIFEGUARD exam will be on Wednesday June 28 from 5:00-9:00 pm.
