Traditionally, yoga is the cultivation of the relationship between the mind and the body. A regular yoga practice can help to reduce stress and anxiety, facilitate healing and improve our overall health. Yoga promotes relaxation, strength, flexibility and balance, within mind and body. Therapeutic yoga is a branch of yoga that strives to facilitate health through meditation and gentle yoga exercises. It is accessible to a variety of ages, ability and experience. Therapeutic Yoga is taught by Dr. Krista Lynes MSc DC, a chiropractor and yoga instructor, who specializes in beginner’s yoga and yoga for pain and injury management. This class will guide students through meditation and gentle exercises designed to reduce pain and anxiety as well as cultivate strength, balance and flexibility. The class is designed for people who are struggling with a variety of health conditions including but not limited to joint pain, stress and anxiety, autoimmune disease, sprains and strains, disc herniation and headaches. Many modifications are offered throughout the class so all students can participate fully, regardless of experience or pain level.
