With latest updates on October 13, 2020.

As of October 10, under the revised Stage 2 order from the Government of Ontario for the City of Ottawa, the following restrictions are in place for a 28 day period to help slow the spread of COVID-19 :

Closed/Suspended

  • Fitness Centre is closed
  • Adult recreational leagues are suspended
  • Intramural programs are suspended
  • In person fitness classes are suspended (still available online)
  • Shower facilities will not be available during this time

Open

  • Our online fitness classes will remain available to our students & members
  • Facility rentals for individual and/or team training remain open
  • Team sports using Athletics facilities are limited to training and drills, with no scrimmages or competitive play permitted
  • Our pool will be open for programs, rentals and members lane swims. Register Here

To prevent the spread of COVID-19, the following safety measures are in place at our facilities:

  • Physical distancing of 2 metres is required at all times all users not living in the same household or in their social circle
  • Directional signage to manage traffic flow
  • Room capacities have been reduced to accommodate social distancing requirements
  • Additional hand sanitizing stations are available and frequent hand washing is encouraged
  • Upon arrival both staff and users are required to complete a self-assessment for COVID-19 symptoms before being authorized access to the site
  • Entry to the building is denied to anyone who presents as a risk based on the self-assessment questionnaire
  • Enhanced cleaning and disinfecting protocols have been implemented
  • Additional COVID-19 specific training has been provided for all staff
  • Team sports using our facilities are limited to training and drills, with no scrimmages or competitive play permitted

Masks

  • Masks are required when entering the facility, in common areas, lobbies, washrooms, change rooms and hallways as per Carleton University’s Mask Policy.
  • For registered programs, mask requirements will follow the same provincial protocols implemented in schools. Students in Grade 4 and up will be required to wear masks indoors. While it is not formally required, the City encourages students from Kindergarten to Grade 3 to wear masks indoors.
  • Although masks are not required while participating in a sport or swimming, masks are required to access our facilities and pool areas.
