Fitness Centre Policies and Procedures

To Book a Fitness Centre Workout, please familiarize yourself with the following:

Booking and Cancelation

To book your Fitness Centre workout, please click here.

Bookings are available 7 days in advance (Orange and Yellow Framework) or 72 hours in advance (Red Framework).  If you need to cancel your booking, you can do so up to 3 hours before your scheduled time-slot.  No-shows will be tracked, and repeated no-shows will lead to a membership suspension. Every member is asked to limit booking to one 90-minute session (Yellow and Orange Framework) or one 45-minute session (Red Framework) per day.

To Cancel Your Workout Booking complete the following steps:

  1. Visit rec.carleton.ca
  2. Log in to your account in the top corner. If you have a Carleton e-mail address, click on MC1 Credentials. If you have a personal account, click local.
  3. Click on your name at the top right corner
  4. Select Profile
  5. Under Personal Information, click on Registrations (left navigation menu)
  6. Find the booking registration from the list
  7. Click on the three dots at the end of the booking listing
  8. Select Cancel Registration and confirm

Daily COVID Screening

All members who book a workout time will be asked to complete a COVID-19 Screening Form the day of their scheduled workout.

If you answer YES to any of the screening questions, DO NOT BOOK A WORKOUT OR ENTER THE FACILITY. Stay home & self-isolate right away. Visit http://www.OttawaPublicHealth.ca/Coronavirus for more information as you may be eligible for a COVID-19 test.

Procedures for Entering and Departing Fitness Classes

 

 

Orange and Yellow Framework:

After Booking online to reserve your spot, you will need to:

  1. Arrive within the first 30 minutes of the start of your workout booking.  After this time the doors will be closed and your booking will be forfeit.  You can attend the Fitness Centre as a Walk-in, however Walk-in’s are not guaranteed.
  2. Ensure you have completed the COVID-19 Screening Form on the day of your booking
  3. Enter through the FIELDHOUSE DOORS located by the P5 Parking lot and make sure you have your student/membership card with you.
  4. Have a water bottle filled with water if you prefer. Water bottle refills will be available but you will not be able to drink out of the fountains
  5. A mask is required to enter the building.
  6. A staff will greet you as you enter and check the following:
    1. Your name and booking details (have your student/membership card ready)
    2. If you have completed the COVID-19 Screening Form
  7. Head up the large staircase beside the squash courts and head straight to the Fitness Centre. Locker rooms are not available, but small cubbies for items have been set aside inside the Fitness Centre.
  8. When you enter the room, please use the hand sanitizer available and:
    1. Please follow all social distancing markers.
    2. Check-in with the Fitness Centre staff at the Desk.
    3. You will be given your own cleaning spray bottle to use during your workout.
      1. please return the bottle to the Fitness Centre Desk after your workout completion.
  9. Washrooms and Hand Sanitizers will be available inside the Fitness Centre and we encourage frequent hand washing.
  10. The exit to the Fitness Centre will be at the emergency outside the Fitness Centre

 

Walk-ins

  1. Walk-in spots will only be available when all booked patrons have arrived and/or after the 30-minute booking arrival time.
  2. Walk-in spots are NOT GUARANTEED due to limited capacity.
  3. Walk-ins enter through the Welcome Centre and register with Welcome Centre Staff.
  4. All patrons coming to workout in the Fitness Centre must complete the COVID-19 Screening Form.
  5. Upon entering head up the large staircase beside the squash courts and head straight to the Fitness Centre. Locker rooms are not available, but small cubbies for items have been set aside inside the Fitness Centre.
  6. When you enter the room, please use the hand sanitizer available and:
    1. Please follow all social distancing markers.
    2. Check-in with the Fitness Centre staff at the Desk.
    3. You will be given your own cleaning spray bottle to use during your workout.
      1. Please return the bottle to the Fitness Centre Desk after your workout completion.
  7. Washrooms and Hand Sanitizers will be available inside the Fitness Centre and we encourage frequent hand washing.
  8. The exit to the Fitness Centre will be the emergency exit outside the Fitness Centre.

 

Red Framework:

After Booking online to reserve your spot, you will need to:

  1. Arrive within the first 20 minutes of the start of your workout booking.
  2. Ensure you have completed the COVID-19 Screening Form on the day of your booking
  3. Enter through the Welcome Centre located by the P5 Parking lot and make sure you have your student/membership card with you.
  4. Have a water bottle filled with water if you prefer. Water bottle refills will be available but you will not be able to drink out of the fountains
  5. A mask is required to enter the building.
  6. The Welcome Centre Attendant will ask:
    1. Your name and booking details (have your student/membership card ready)
    2. If you have completed the COVID-19 Screening Form
  7. Follow the arrows to turn right at the end of the hallway (locker rooms are not available) and head up the large staircase beside the squash courts and straight to the Fitness Centre. Small cubbies for items have been set aside inside the Fitness Centre.
  8. When you enter the room, please use the hand sanitizer available and:
    1. Please follow all social distancing markers.
    2. Check-in with the Fitness Centre staff at the Desk.
    3. You will be given your own cleaning spray bottle to use during your workout.
      1. please return the bottle to the Fitness Centre Desk after your workout completion.
  9. Washrooms and Hand Sanitizers will be available inside the Fitness Centre and we encourage frequent hand washing.
  10. The exit to the Fitness Centre will be at the back of the room leading out to the P5 Parking lot.

 

Walk-ins

  1. Walk-ins are not permitted in the Red Framework.
