Ultimate is a non-contact, self-officiated sport that emphasizes sportsmanship, fair play, and respect. Players must rely on communication, strategy, and teamwork to maintain possession, move the disc, and prevent turnovers, which occur when a pass is incomplete, intercepted, or goes out of bounds.<\/p>\n\n\n                            <\/header>\n        <\/div>\n\n            <\/div>\n\n    \n\n    <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"code-of-conduct\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Code of Conduct<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Fighting or deliberately attempting to injure another player results in <strong>immediate removal<\/strong> from the league (zero tolerance).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All players must follow the <strong>Carleton University Intramural &amp; Adult League Player Code of Conduct<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Unsportsmanlike actions such as taunting, aggression, intimidation, or intentional fouls are prohibited.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"general-information\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>General Information<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Open to Carleton students, staff\/faculty, and alumni with active gym memberships.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Players may join one team per league per semester.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Team shirts must be worn; all players must be registered.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Players must check in and present valid student ID.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Minimum 5 games required for playoff eligibility.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fighting or deliberate harm results in removal from the league.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Governed by WFDF Rule Book + Carleton-specific rules.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"game-supervision\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Game Supervision<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Games are <strong>self-officiated<\/strong>; players call their own violations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Disputes should be resolved by replaying the point.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>One league staff member on-site for sign-ins and eligibility.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Respect for organizers is mandatory; misconduct may lead to ejection.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"equipment\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Equipment<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>No hard casts or jewelry allowed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cleats permitted; metal spikes prohibited.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cones and Frisbees provided by staff.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"game-rules\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Game <strong>Rules<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 id=\"1-players\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>1. Players<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>6 vs 6 format.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mixed teams must maintain a 3:3 or 4:2 gender ratio.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Minimum 4 players to start; grace period of 10 minutes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Max 14 players per game; spares must be approved and added to roster.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 id=\"2-time\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>2. Time<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Two 25-minute halves + 5-minute halftime.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>No overtime in regular season.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Late teams penalized 1 point every 5 minutes (max 5 points before forfeit).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 id=\"3-boundaries\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>3. Boundaries<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Played on a half-sized football field with end zones.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 id=\"4-general-play\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>4. General Play<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Non-contact, self-refereed sport.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Score by catching the disc in the opponent\u2019s end zone.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Thrower cannot run with the disc; must pass to teammates.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Turnover occurs if pass is incomplete or intercepted.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 id=\"5-the-pull\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>5. The Pull<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Each point starts with a throw-off (\u201cpull\u201d) from the goal line.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Teams switch direction after each point.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cBrick\u201d option available if pull lands out-of-bounds.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 id=\"6-in-bounds-out-of-bounds\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>6. In-bounds &amp; Out-of-bounds<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>First point of contact must be in bounds.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Momentum out-of-bounds requires return to field before throwing.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Disc flying out and returning is valid if caught in bounds.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 id=\"7-no-running-with-the-disc\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>7. No Running with the Disc<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Must stop quickly after catching while running.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pivoting allowed with one foot stationary.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 id=\"8-10-seconds\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>8. 10 Seconds<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Thrower has 10 seconds to release the disc.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Defender counts aloud; failure to throw results in turnover.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 id=\"9-fouls-violations-infractions\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>9. Fouls, Violations &amp; Infractions<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>No physical contact.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>No double-teaming or invading disc space.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Picks\/screens are prohibited.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Offensive player gets possession if both catch simultaneously.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 id=\"10-turnovers\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>10. Turnovers<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Occur due to:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Incomplete pass<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Out-of-bounds catch<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Interception<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>10-second violation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Handing disc<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Self-catch without touch<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dropped pull<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 id=\"11-making-a-call\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>11. Making a Call<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Call \u201cfoul\u201d if contact occurs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If contested, disc returns to previous thrower.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If uncontested, fouled player gains possession.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Restart with \u201ccheck\u201d (marker touches disc and says \u201cdisc in\u201d).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 id=\"12-substitutions\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>12. Substitutions<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Allowed after each point.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>During play, only for injury (both teams may substitute).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 id=\"13-timeouts\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>13. Timeouts<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>1 timeout per half (max 90 seconds).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>No timeouts in final 5 minutes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Second timeout in same half = turnover if disc is dropped.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 id=\"14-spirit-timeouts\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>14. Spirit Timeouts<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Called for repeated unsportsmanlike behavior.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Captains meet to resolve issue.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>May result in player bans or game termination.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 id=\"15-scoring\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>15. Scoring<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Catch in attacking end zone = goal.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>First point of contact must be in end zone.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Goal line contact = no goal.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Teams switch ends after scoring.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 id=\"16-end-of-game\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>16.
