Ravens Summer Soccer Camp

The program was developed by Kwesi Loney (former head coach of the varsity men’s soccer team) and is overseen by Marcelo Plada (current head coach of the varsity men’s soccer team) and instructed by the players of the Carleton varsity soccer team.

Designed for children ages 5 to 13, the camp focuses on skill development, teamwork, and fostering a love for the game in a fun, supportive, and engaging environment.

Our *Competitive Elite Camp is geared towards motivated players aged 13–16 and introduces athletes to the training standards of university varsity soccer. The camp focuses on advanced technical and tactical development, while providing insight into performance, recovery, and mental preparation through training alongside varsity athletes. Participants will have the opportunity to train alongside varsity athletes, review performance through video analysis, and learn about the importance of mental conditioning, nutrition, and recovery. To ensure a high-quality learning environment, participants will be divided into age groups and further grouped by ability, allowing for smaller, focused training sessions.

*Please Note

Players registering for the Competitive Elite program must have experience playing competitive-level soccer

* Swimming Supervision & Camp Swim Test

Our aquatics team follows the Ontario Lifesaving Society’s standards for pool supervision, and all staff are fully trained and certified as National Lifeguards, ensuring the highest level of safety and supervision for every swimmer. In addition, our camp counsellors are in the water with campers, providing an extra layer of support and supervision.

As per our admission standards, children under the age of 7 must wear a life jacket and are only permitted to swim in the shallow end. Campers aged 7 and older may choose to complete a swim test on the first day of each camp week. Those who pass the test can swim in both the shallow and deep ends, while those who do not pass (or choose not to take the test) must wear a life jacket and remain in the shallow end. Our aquatics centre provides life jackets in all sizes and ensures each one fits campers correctly for their safety and comfort.

Ages & Friend Requests

Campers remain with the same group of similar ages throughout the week, following a designated group schedule.

Parents can request for their child to be placed in the same group as friends by using the friend request option during registration. While we strive to accommodate all requests, friend requests cannot be guaranteed.
