Personal Trainer
The Personal Trainer is responsible for the design and instruction of personal fitness programs.
- After completing an assessment with clients, trainers design and implement training programs built specifically for each client’s goals and needs.
- Trainers are responsible for following up with their clients and in providing education and motivation for clients to reach their fitness goals.
Responsibilities (including but not exclusive of)
- Meeting with clients to discuss training package options and guiding clients in the purchase of specific training sessions
- Providing information in person or over the phone about personal training
- Contacting clients to arrange training sessions
- Following up with emails and/or phone calls with clients
- Monitoring of number of sessions completed with clients
- Performing fitness assessments and par-q screening for new and returning clients
- Designing personalized fitness programs for clients and regularly performing updates to programs for continuing clients
- Keeping client records up to date
- Keeping up with their CEC credits and maintaining their certifications – this includes CPR/AED and First Aid (some discounts are provided through the department) and their personal training certifications
- Trainers may be asked to respond to emergency situations within the facility
Experience/Skills Required
- A valid certification in personal training with a practical component or 1+ years of experience
- First Aid + CPR C
