Karate (Shotokan)

Karate comes from the Japanese word “Kara” (empty) and “te” (hands) meaning the art of Empty Hands. It is a dynamic martial art that involves a variety of techniques with an ingenious use of the body.

Karate (Shotokan)

Rooted in the traditions of Shotokan, this class is built on three foundations: fundamental techniques (Kihon), structured movements (Kata), and sparring (Kumite). Training emphasizes not only physical skill but also mental discipline, helping students develop agility, focus, and self-awareness.

Through practice, you’ll learn to improve decision-making and defensive responses, sharpen your tournament skills, and explore advanced concepts such as timing, distancing, and effective technique execution. Whether you’re looking to strengthen your body, mind, or martial arts ability, this program offers a well-rounded path to growth.

Please Note (1)

A karate do-gi (uniform) is recommended (not required) for practice. This will be available at the start of the session for $40 (for all sizes and includes the belt).
