Canadian Swim Patrol – Level 3
The Canadian Swim Patrol program is the on-ramp to lifeguarding.
Fall 2026 Program Registration Opens August 5th @ 9:00am
Star Patrol is the final level of the Canadian Swim Patrol Program and will prepare swimmers for the Bronze Star Award.
Swim Patrol 3 – Star
Swimmers are challenged with 600 m workouts, 300 m timed swims and a 25 m object carry. Strokes are refined over 100 m swims. First aid focuses on treatment of bone or joint injuries and respiratory emergencies including asthma and allergic reactions. Lifesaving skills include defence methods, victim removals and rolling over and supporting a victim face up in shallow water.

- Recommended completed Swim Patrol Level 2: Ranger
- Proficient with the following skills;
- Breaststroke, Front & Back Crawl 100m
- Eggbeater kick on back 25m
- Swim 200m in 6min or better

We do not run this program weekly as a signal level offering. Check out our Junior Lifeguard Summer Camp offering, which combines all 3-levels of Canadian Swim Patrol program (Rookie, Ranger and Star Patrol).

Important Notes
- Effective January 1, 2026, a Capital Renewal Fee (CRF) of 3% will apply to select non-student facility rentals, programs, and services. This fee supports long-term facility maintenance and renewal, with all funds directed to a dedicated capital renewal fund. Certain exemptions may apply. - Refunds or credits for missed private/semi-private or group lessons will not be provided.
- Make-up lessons can not be arranged, and substitute (non-registered) swimmers are not permitted.
- Please arrive (10-15) minutes before the start of the class and proceed to the Welcome Centre Desk to check-in before going to the pool-deck.
- There will be several showers available for brief usage.
- The main locker rooms will be available and some lockers are available for day use.
- Bringing clothes & valuables to the pool deck in a gym-bag is recommended.
- Includes Lot 5 Parking.
- Registration is required in advance and space is limited.
- The Pool Gallery is available for parent/guardians.
