Foundations of Athletic Performance Program
Our Youth Performance Program is designed for athletes ages 12–15 who are ready to build a strong foundation in strength, coordination, and overall athleticism. Delivered in the Carleton University High Performance Centre, the program provides a holistic development experience that builds every major facet of performance in a safe, age-appropriate, and professionally coached environment.

Youth Athletic Performance (Summer 2026)
This summer, we are offering two complementary programs under the Youth Athletic Performance umbrella, designed to help athletes ages 12–15 improve their physical foundation, movement skills, and sport readiness in a structured, professionally coached environment
Foundations of Athletic Performance Summer: Pre-Season Preparation
Runs every Monday, Wednesday & Thursday from June 29 to August 20
Mondays & Thursdays = High Performance Centre from 6:00pm to 7:00pm
Wednesdays = Fieldhouse from 6:30pm to 7:30pm
This comprehensive program is designed for athletes preparing for their fall sport season and focuses on building a strong foundation of overall athleticism. Through a combination of weight room and field-based training, participants will develop the physical skills and confidence needed to perform at their best when the season begins.
Key areas of focus include:
- Strength development through progressive resistance training
- Speed and acceleration mechanics
- Agility and change-of-direction skills
- Coordination and movement efficiency
- Sport-specific conditioning and fitness
- Proper movement mechanics to reduce injury risk and improve performance
The program emphasizes the transfer of gym-based improvements to on-field performance, helping athletes apply gains in strength and power to sprinting, agility, and overall sport performance.
Participants will also complete baseline and post-program performance testing, providing valuable insight into their progress and helping identify areas for continued development.
By the end of the program, athletes will be better prepared to enter their fall season with increased confidence, resilience, and physical readiness.
Youth Speed Development Program Summer
Runs every Wednesday from July 8 to Aug 19 from 6:30pm to 7:30pm in our Fieldhouse
This program is designed for athletes looking to specifically enhance their speed, agility, and movement efficiency. Through focused, high-quality training sessions, participants will develop the athletic skills needed to move more effectively and perform at a higher level in their sport.
Key areas of focus include:
- Sprint mechanics and running technique
- Acceleration and top-speed development
- Agility and change-of-direction skills
- Coordination, balance, and body control
- Movement efficiency and athletic performance
- Sport-specific conditioning and endurance
The program prioritizes technical development and efficient movement patterns, using progressive drills and coaching strategies that build confidence while improving performance. Athletes will learn how to move with greater speed, control, and precision in competitive situations.
Suitable for athletes of all experience levels, this program helps participants run faster, move more effectively, and develop the conditioning and athletic skills that directly support success in sport.
