Foundations of Athletic Performance Program

This program gives athletes ages 12–15 a solid starting point to develop strength, coordination, and overall athletic ability. Hosted in the High Performance Centre at Carleton University, it offers a supportive, professionally guided environment where young athletes can train safely and build well rounded physical skills..

This program is ideal for young athletes looking to enhance their strength, movement skills, and overall performance in a supportive, professionally coached setting.

The program follows a structured progression:

Session 1 — Educational Introduction

Athletes are introduced to weight‑room safety, proper navigation of the space, and foundational exercise technique. This session builds confidence and ensures athletes understand how to move safely in a performance environment.

Session 2 — Baseline Performance Evaluation

A comprehensive assessment using both field‑based tests and gold‑standard technologies establishes each athlete’s starting point across key performance qualities.

Sessions 3–15 — Progressive Training Phase

Athletes participate in structured, developmentally appropriate training designed to build strength, speed, coordination, explosive capacity, and movement competency. Sessions will build progressively to support safe and meaningful improvement.

Session 16 — Follow‑Up Testing & Individual Report

Athletes complete a post‑program evaluation mirroring the initial testing. Each participant receives an individualized summary report comparing pre‑ and post‑program results, highlighting progress and outlining recommended next steps.
