Game Day Announcers and DJ

This position reports to the Ticket Sales and Event Assistant and is responsible for engaging fans and spectators over the PA system and with music to bring the fun and in-game updates to the crowd throughout the events. 

The Game Day Announcers and DJ works closely with the Game Day Operations Co-ordinator in all aspects of game day hosting and fan experience.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to a positive fan experience through creating a welcoming and energetic atmosphere  
• Provide a fun and safe environment for all fans by understanding and using established processes and rules 
• Work closely with event organizers, officials, and other game day staff to ensure timely and accurate announcements 
• Follow prepared game scripts and run sheets by announcing starting line-ups, in-game messages, public address notices, presentations/ceremonies, sponsorship reads/promotions, contests, upcoming events, etc. 
• Give statistics, game/score updates and announce names of players and officials 
• Follow prepared playlists, playing the correct and/or predetermined music at the designated times 
• Ensure all music being played is clean and free of profane/offensive language 
• Arrive prepared to all games 
• Be knowledgeable about the venue (i.e., the Ravens Nest/Alumni Hall) 
• Other duties as assigned 

Qualifications

• Minimum one (1) year experience announcing, public speaking, or other related fields 
• Have knowledge of sports, fan engagement and current trends to deliver an exceptional game day experience 
• Knowledge of audio systems is an asset 
• Bilingualism (French and English) is considered an asset
