Lifesaving Examiner

The Lifesaving Society authorizes Examiners to evaluate and certify candidates in the Society’s training programs. Examiners are experienced instructors (who have taught or co-taught at least one course within the stream they are seeking certification in) and undergo specific training in examination methodology and standards.

Certification as an Examiner is a three-step process

1. Successfully complete an Examiner course.
2. Successfully apprentice with an Examiner Mentor on one exam in the stream(s) in which you seek to be certified as an Examiner (Bronze Medallion, Bronze Cross, National Lifeguard, First Aid).
3. Submission of the completed Examiner Training Record and the certification fee to the Society.

Required

• Must be at least 15 years old
• Examiner Handbook  (add-on during registration)
• Award guide(s) for each certification the candidate wishes to examine (purchased during Instructor courses).

Prerequisites

• Must have Lifesaving teaching experience
• Must have taught or co-taught at least one course in the stream(s) in which they are seeking certification as an examiner.

What to Bring

• At least (1) swim suit 
• A couple towel
• Award Guides for the Lifesaving Instructor courses you hold qualification to teach.
• A notebook and a pen or pencil

Important Notes

• Arrivals for this course should should check-in at the Welcome Centre Desk in Alumni Hall
• Add-on manuals will be issued during the first session.
• Note: Lot 5 parking is not Free
• Please arrive 10 – 15 minutes before the start of the class
• Registration is required in advance and space is limited.
