Share the space

Although you are not required to sign up for resistance machines, weights, bars or dumbbells, all members appreciate when you share equipment (for example, by “working in” between sets and letting others do the same). It is also important to put away (or “re-rack”) the weights, bars or dumbbells that you use.

Workout with a buddy

If it’s your first time at the gym, take it easy so that you will want to come back. Many people, both new to and old friends of the gym, find that coming with a workout buddy makes working out more enjoyable and helps to keep them on-track and motivated. It is important to have fun sweating!

Staff is here to help

Finally, please ask questions to and otherwise make use of the staff members. We are here to help you. If you are unsure about how a machine works, speak with a staff member. If a machine seems to be broken, speak with a staff member. If somebody is on the cardio machine that you booked, if somebody requires first aid… speak with a staff member. If you would like additional help setting fitness goals and building a suitable routine, there are personal trainers available through the Welcome Centre.
