Intramural Recap: Flag Football November 13

MNP Park saw an exciting day of playoff football this weekend with play-in games, quarter final games and the championship games in both Division A and Division B! The 2 leagues play-in games resulted in Zach Jackson Express (Div A) and The All-SPPA’s (Div B) advancing their way to quarter final games after winning due to forfeit.

Division A quarter finals kicked off with the 2^nd place Athletics 3 (4-2) taking on the 3^rd place No Punt Intended (2-4). After an extremely close match Athletics 3 came out on top with a 28-22 win, earning a spot in the championships! The next quarter final game included 1^st place Athletics 5 (5-1) versus the play-in winners Zach Jackson Express (2-3-2). After a HUGE upset the play-in winners Zach Jackson Express dominated with an impressive 23-8 win passing through once again this time to the finals. The championship game was a nail bitter with a tight 15-12 score. Athletics 3 ultimately came out on top being honored as the Division A flag football champions!

On the other side of the field Division B teams were also fighting for a spot in the championship game. In the first quarter final game, 2^nd place The Stripey Tiger Deathsquad faced (5-1) off with the 3^rd place Purple Lightning (2-3). The STD’s came out and dominated the entire game with a massive 48-8 win making their way to the finals. In the second quarter final game the undefeated 1^st place No Dollaz (6-0) took on the play-in winners The All-SPPA’s (2-4). After another dominating win, No Dollaz advanced to the championships beating their opponents 42-6. This championship game was anything but boring, both teams were equally matched and were relentless all game. It was truly anyone’s game but ultimately The Stripey Tiger Deathsquad came out victorious with a close 30-23 win! The STD’s fans were some rowdy in the stands as they claimed their championship title.

What a great season of outdoor flag football! This field saw so many great athletes and crazy games. We can’t wait for more flag football in 2017. Thank you everybody who made this season legendary!
