The Lifesaving Society First Aid Instructor course prepares candidates to teach first aid courses up to and including Workplace Standard First Aid. Current First Aid Instructors may teach and certify Basic and Emergency First Aid, CPR-A,-B,-C and AED. They may teach (but not certify) Standard First Aid candidates. Candidates must go on to complete their Examiners qualification to certify participants in the first aid level for which they hold.
First Aid Instructors who hold CPR-HCP may teach CPR-HCP but require their examiner qualification to certify participates at this level. Similarly, First Aid Instructors who hold Airway Management may teach (but not certify) Airway Management, unless they also hold the Examiner qualification.
Prerequisites: Minimum 16 years of age, Lifesaving Society Standard First Aid (need not be current), or Standard First Aid from a training agency approved by the Ontario government.

- Instructor Manual – same manual used for Lifesaving, Swim or NL Instructor courses (option add-on during registration if you have not already purchased one with another instructor course)
- First Aid Award Guide – features test requirements and evaluation criteria for the Society’s Basic, Emergency and Standard First Aid, CPR, Airway Management, and AED certification.
- Canadian First Aid Manual – same manual used for Standard First Aid course (option add-on during registration if you have not already purchased one during a previous course)
- First Aid Instructor Resource Download – you must purchase this directly from the Lifesaving Society.

Spring 2025 First Aid Instructor Course
Program Fee: $167 + tax & $30 First Aid Award Guide + additional add-on reference materials as needed.
Program Dates: Tuesday(s) May 6th, 13th & 20th, 5:00 -9:00pm and Saturday May 10, 8:30am – 5:00pm
This is a 20hr course. Candidates are progressively evaluated, so 100% attendance is required.
