This program is oriented towards swimmers in levels 8 through 10, and beyond. The program focuses on the improvement of stroke mechanics, maximizing efficiency and endurance. Front crawl, back crawl and breast stroke are the focus of this program, as well as an introduction to butterfly. There will be an emphasis on the individual needs and objectives of each participant. New skill development will focus on competitive swimming skills, such as starts and turns. We will be offering two levels of Power Swimming: Power Swim I (PS 1) and Power Swim II (PS 2).
Note: Refunds or credits for missed private/semi-private or group lessons will not be provided. Make-up lessons can not be arranged, and substitute (non-registered) swimmers are not permitted.
Like other universities in Ontario, Carleton University suspended its vaccination requirements for participation in Carleton Athletics activities beginning May 1, 2022. As of Saturday June 25 MASKS were no longer be mandatory, however we continue to strongly recommend masking when indoors, particularly if physical distancing cannot be maintained. We are aware that personal preferences regarding optional mask use will vary greatly, and we ask that we all show consideration and care for each other during this transition. Please note that if pandemic circumstances were to change, the university may need to quickly reinstate the mask requirement and the vaccination & screening policies.
