The Lifesaving Instructor course prepares instructors to teach the Lifesaving Society’s:

  • Canadian Swim Patrol Program
  • Bronze Star, Bronze Medallion, Bronze Cross
  • Lifesaving Fitness, Distinction
  • Basic and Emergency First Aid, and CPR-A, CPR-B and CPR-C

Prerequisites:

  1. 15 years of age by the end of the course
  2. Bronze Cross certification (need not be current).

Required references: Lifesaving Instructor Pack (includes Instructor Manual, Swim Patrol Award Guide, Bronze Medals Award Guide, First Aid Award Guide, Leadership Binder).

This is a 20hr course. Candidates are progressively evaluated, so 100% attendance is required. There is both classroom and pool components. Please bring a bathing suit and towel.

 

Spring 2025 Lifesaving Instructor Course

Program Fee: $167(+HST) + $85 Lifesaving Instructor Pack

Program Dates: Thursday(s) June 12th 6:00 -10:00pm, Saturday & Sunday June 14 – 15th 1:00 – 9:00pm

June 14 & 15 – In person session

June 12  – Virtual session (zoom link provide in registration details) *Instructor Pack must be picked up from Carleton Athletic center in advance of first virtual session between June 2nd – 12th.
