Junior Ravens Baseball is part of Carleton University’s Junior Ravens program. These programs give young players the opportunity to work with the Carleton Ravens varsity coaches and players in a range of development programs in different sports.

2021 Winter Junior Ravens Baseball

The Provincial Government has announced a province wide lockdown commencing on Saturday, December 26. As a result of this lockdown, all Carleton Athletics facilities will be closed until Saturday, January 23 (or until further notice).

This closure will impact the start of our Junior Ravens winter baseball program.

We plan to continue running our Junior Ravens baseball program this winter for its scheduled duration. The program will resume when we are able to reopen our facilities. The new schedule for our Junior Ravens winter baseball program will be communicated by e-mail to registered participants later in January.

The start of the winter program has been delayed due to the province wide lockdown. Parents may still register.

  • Equipment to Bring: Glove, baseball pants or sweat pants/shorts, indoor running shoes (no cleats), and jock/jill cup.

HITTING:

Players will be introduced to the science of hitting including preparation, grip, mechanics including stride, swing plane, rotation and separation to produce reliable contact and power.  As the weeks progress, players will be taught situational hitting including intent, increased bat control and hitting for power.  The goal is to develop a high level of awareness and hitting IQ alongside solid mechanics to elevate batting performance.

  • Equipment to Bring: Batting helmet, bat, baseball pants or sweat pants/shorts, batting gloves (optional), indoor running shoes (no cleats), and jock/jill cup. Please note a limited number of additional bats are available at the clinic.
