Junior Ravens Winter Football

Junior Ravens Winter Football is dedicated to providing a variety of age and skill-specific football training programs. This winter the program will focus on two levels of development: Elite Tackle and Flag Football (non-contact).

Our mission is to introduce athletes to the game of football in a safe and structured environment that promotes the values of teamwork, respect and self-confidence.

Our goal is to expose 10,000 youth to the sport by 2025. Our focus is athlete-centered, coach-driven.

Age Groups:

2025 Winter Programs

Elite Tackle ($509) –  Sunday January 5 to Sunday May 11, 2025 (16 sessions)

Youth Speed Development (SOLD OUT): For an additional price of $248, athletes can add 16 speed training, functional movement, and mobility field sessions to their registration. These sessions run 5:30pm-6:30pm every Tuesday (SOLD OUT)  or Thursday (SOLD OUT) without equipment. This program is led by Nick Westcott (Manager, Performance & Sport Science) and other coaches of our High Performance Centre.

Our Youth Speed Development Program is designed to enhance movement literacy, speed, and agility in young athletes. The program focuses on teaching proper running mechanics, acceleration, and change of direction techniques in a fun and supportive environment. Through tailored drills and expert guidance, participants will develop the foundational skills necessary to boost their athletic performance.

You can add the Youth Speed Development program during the Elite Tackle registration process.

The Tuesday field sessions will run from Tuesday, January 7 to Tuesday, April 29 (no session on March 11).The Thursday field sessions will run from Thursday, January 9 to Thursday, May 1 (no session on March 13).

U12 / U14 / U16

Junior Ravens ELITE TACKLE is an advanced football training program for experienced players between ages 10-15. Through three age groups, athletes will develop specific skills and knowledge through training and competition. Football equipment is provided. 

This program has 16 weekly sessions (75 mins) that specialize in tackling, blocking and developing the technical competencies for elite-level football.

U12 (Sunday 8:00am-9:15am)

U14 (Sunday 9:30am-10:45am)

U16 (Sunday 11:00am-12:15pm)

Coaching is led by Ravens varsity players.

Carleton Ravens Football is proud to offer Ottawa a non-contact Junior Ravens flag football program that introduces young athletes to football through developing fundamental skills in a positive and safe environment. Flag football is an excellent way to develop skills as a quarterback, receiver, center, and defensive back. The game promotes the principles of teamwork, discipline, dedication and sportsmanship. This program is geared towards beginner and intermediate players. Participants will be coached by players of the Carleton Ravens football team and a t-shirt is included with registration.

U12/U14 (Sunday 12:30pm-1:30pm)
