​​Junior Ravens Football is dedicated to providing a variety of age and skill-specific football training programs. Focusing on two levels of development: Elite Tackle, and Football Prospects.

The Elite Tackle program prepares athletes that have experience in tackle the opportunity to advance their skills, techniques and knowledge in a competitive environment of football.

Football Prospects is a comprehensive training program for the high school athletes looking to take their game to the next level. Training consists of strength, speed and skill-specification delivered in a Carleton’s High-Performance Centre.

Our mission is to introduce athletes to the game of football in a safe and structured environment that promotes the values of teamwork, respect and self-confidence.

Our goal is to expose 10,000 youth to the sport by 2025.

Our focus is athlete-centered, coach-driven.

2022 Winter Programs

Elite Tackle

U12 / U14 / U16

Focus is on Continuance and Sport-Specialization: developing positional skills with special emphasis on tackle readiness. Introduction to aerobic power and endurance.

Football Prospects

U16 / U18

Focus is on High-Performance Training and Athlete Optimization: Derived from the Ravens Football off-season program, Prospects offers high performance strength and conditioning paired with on-field skill development and competition.

The “University Prospects” strives to enhance athletic performance, attitude and personal growth for the elite football players who are serious about maximizing their athletic potential. These athletes will train in a high-performance support system in Carleton University’s gym, field house and classroom.

This 16-week off-season training program specializes in advanced systems of football, focusing on developing strength, speed and football-specialization. This university-prep experience is intended for the elite student-athlete that is looking to take their game to the next level.

Coached by members of the Carleton Ravens Football and Training staff.

Age Groups:

as of December 31, 2022

U18 – must be born in 2005 & 2006

U16 – must be born in 2007 & 2008

U14 – must be born in 2009 & 2010

U12 – must be born in 2011 & 2012

Vaccination Policy

Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination is required for all community members 12 years of age and older to enter Carleton University Recreation and Athletics facilities. Members of the Carleton community that are already using the cuScreen system are encouraged to continue to do so. Visitors, who are not regular Carleton Athletics patrons can use their provincial COVID-19 vaccination passport along with government issued photo ID, which includes date of birth, to verify their vaccination status.

Any individual who cannot be vaccinated on medical grounds or other protected grounds recognized by the Ontario Human Rights Code can request an exemption.
