2025 Ravens Fencing Camp (Ages 7-12)

Fencing has always been one of the most unique and popular sports at the Ravens camps. This summer, participants can develop their fencing skills at our dedicated fencing camp, led by expert fencing coaches. Half of each day will focus on fencing lessons, while the other half will feature a variety of fun sports activities led by Ravens Multisport camp counsellors.

The Ravens Fencing Camp is a fun and engaging day camp for active children aged 7 to 12. Campers stay with the same group throughout the week and follow a unique group schedule. Groups are organized by age, and parents can request for campers to be placed with friends during registration. While we do our best to accommodate all friend requests, they cannot be guaranteed.

Camp Price (Includes a Cafeteria Lunch)

The Ravens Fencing Camp & Sports Camp will cost $384 (includes a daily cafeteria lunch). 

Fencing Camp Activities

The aim of this camp is to provide children with daily instruction and participation in both fencing and a range of other sports. In fencing, campers will learn fundamental techniques such as footwork, blade work, stance, and parrying, while developing agility, coordination, and strategic thinking. Lessons will include fun drills, skill-building activities, and friendly bouts, allowing participants to practice their skills in an encouraging and supportive environment.

Sports & activities may include:

• Ball Hockey, Basketball, Tchoukball
• European handball, Field Hockey, Soccer
• Touch Rugby, Ultimate, Water Games

The specific activities vary from week to week. We are not able to guarantee that a particular age group will participate in any specific activity in any given week.

Facilities

The Fencing Camp makes use of the full range of Carleton University’s modern indoor and outdoor facilities. Fencing lessons will take place in our varsity fencing room.

For other sports & activities we will use our modern indoor and outdoor facilities, so there is no need to worry about kids being bored if the weather turns bad. Each day we prepare two complete schedules, one including outdoor activities for good days and the other for wet or excessively hot days which takes place entirely indoors. The facilities used include Raven Field, Ravens Perch (stadium field), Fieldhouse, Olympic-sized swimming pool with diving boards, multipurpose rooms and the Norm Fenn Gymnasium.

What’s Included

The registration fee includes a t-shirt, recreational swim and a full cafeteria lunch. Please note our cafeteria does not use any peanut or tree nuts in their recipes, and does not purchase products with peanuts or tree nuts in the ingredient list. However, there is always a risk of cross-contamination due to its open kitchens and self-serve style. Hence, we advise parents of children with food allergies to communicate these allergies to us when registering.

Age Range

Children who are 7 and 12 years old.

Campers stay with the same group for the week and follow their own unique group schedule. Campers will be placed in groups of similar age.

Dates & Times

• Session 1: Aug 11 – Aug 15
• Session 2: Aug 18 – Aug 22
• Session 3: Aug 25 – Aug 29
• The hours of the camp are from 8:30am to 4:30pm daily
  • Drop off is from 8:30am to 9:00am
  • Pick up is from 4:00pm to 4:30pm
  • Drop off & Pick up will take place outdoors on the TAAG Park (stadium field). 
• Optional Early/late care will be offered at a cost of $30 for the week.
  • Early care runs from 7:30am to 8:30am
  • Late care runs from 4:30pm to 5:30pm
