motionball is a national non-profit that empowers young Canadians to be leaders in their communities, raising funds and awareness for Special Olympics through integrated social and sporting events. motionball aims to introduce the next generation of volunteers and donors to the Special Olympics movement through integrated social and sporting events, creating relevant, meaningful experiences that help bring the fun back into giving.
To date, motionball has raised and donated over $15 million to Special Olympics Canada Foundation (SOCF) since its inception in 2002 and continues to do so. motionball now proudly hosts annual events in 19 Canadian cities and 35 + university campuses.
motionball’s flagship event, Marathon of Sport Ottawa will return to Carleton University on July 23rd, 2022! Marathon of Sport Ottawa is an action-packed day where young professionals and Special Olympics athletes come together to play sports all day long! Teams of 10 will be joined by 1-2 Special Olympics athletes, to play sports such as football, bocce, ultimate, and so much more! This day brings awareness to the Special Olympics movement and allows people with and without intellectual disabilities to interact, build lifelong friendships, and ultimately create more inclusive communities.
