One of the best things you can do post workout as a cooldown or at the end of your day before you go to sleep is a decompression stretch. Our bodies all get compacted throughout the day from gravity, daily activities, sitting too long and exercise. So, to end your workout or day creating space in your joints will really benefit you in the long term.
ELDOA (Étirements Longitudinaux avec Decoaptation Ostéo Articulaire), or more easily translated to Longitudinal Osteo-Articular Decoaptation Stretching, is a revolutionary technique designed by world-renowned Osteopath Guy Voyer. In this class you’ll learn postures that correct the alignment of each segment of your spine – from your neck, to mid-back, to lower back. ELDOA postures (held for approx. 1 minute each) fix postural imbalances by strengthening the weak postural muscles and by stretching the tight postural muscles. Your central nervous system is housed in the spine so getting and keeping your spine aligned is of utmost importance to the well-being of your whole body. You’ll experience relief from unnecessary pain and prevent future problems by doing these postures!
Global benefits: improved posture, normalization of muscle tone throughout body, decrease psychomotor barrier, and increased sense of well-being.
All levels welcome.
