Raven Ready: Early Bird Triathlon Training Program

Soar into the triathlon season with an 8-week training program specifically designed for those gearing up for the Somersault Early Bird Triathlon on May 17th. This program is perfect for beginner athletes or those new to the sport, offering a supportive environment with 21 in-person coached sessions, along with a detailed supplementary weekly self-guided training plan, to ensuring you’re prepared to swim, bike, and run on Carleton campus and along the Rideau Canal.

The 5 coached swim workouts, 8 indoor bike and brick training sessions, and 8 coached run/track sessions, we’ll teach you the basics of each discipline!

A complete self-directed 8 week training plan will be sent to all that register one week before training begins.

In person training sessions will take place Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays:

Additional Notes:

  • Spin Bike Features:
    • Equipped with toe straps or SPD pedals
    • Bikes do not have power meters; workouts will be guided by perceived exertion.
  • Swimming ability: participants should be comfortable swimming (25m distance) laps of the pool and possess basic swim stroke skills.
  • Pre/Post-Workout Amenities: Access to change rooms and showers before and after the workout.
  • Parking: Parking is included with registration in this program. Parking validation link & code provided in registration confirmation email.
