The Carleton Ravens are looking for dependable, dedicated, customer-oriented, and motivated Guest Services Attendants for the 2024/2025 varsity season.

Guest Services Attendants

  • General Accountability: This position reports to the Ticket Sales and Student Engagement Assistant and is responsible for assisting fans and spectators throughout the venue and with tickets to provide a positive in game experience for all fans and spectators. A Guest Services Attendant works closely with the Ticket Sales and Student Engagement Assistant and needs to be reliable and courteous in order to provide the best game day experience for every fan.
  • Specific Accountabilities:
    • Provide a positive fan experience through exceptional customer service, creating a welcoming environment for all
    • Provide a safe and secure environment for all fans by understanding and using established processes and rules
    • Be knowledgeable on the venue (i.e., the Ravens Nest/Alumni Hall), where things are, and provide direction and educate guests on game day activities and services to best assist them
    • Greet guests and welcome them to Carleton University
    • Processing ticket sales through POS system
    • Attend to Will-Call ticket pick ups
    • Scan game tickets
    • Selling merchandise in the store, running reports at the end of the day and logging inventory once a week.
    • Hand out promotional material where required
    • Assist and ensure effective traffic flow and control
    • Identify and minimize potential crowd challenges
    • Recognize customer issues, provide empathy, and use best judgment in providing an effective and efficient solution
    • Notify Campus Safety in the event of unruly behaviour and major incident
    • Respond to customer inquiries for information
    • Any other duties necessary to provide fast and friendly hospitality
  • Skills/Experience Required:
    • Minimum one (1) year working in customer service
    • Expected to be on campus in-person
    • Ability to use Ticketing POS system (user friendly and will be trained)
    • Ability to handle and count cash
    • Ability to use a POS/Cash register to sell tickets
    • Ability to work well in a team environment and motivate others
    • Understand and follow emergency procedures
    • Maintain the utmost professionalism at all times
    • Demonstrate understanding of technical service skills for assigned are
    • Effective communication skills with the ability to clarify and provide accurate information
