Star Patrol is the final level of the Canadian Swim Patrol Program and will prepare swimmers for the Bronze Star Award. Swimmers will further refine their strokes and work on their physical conditioning by completing a 600m workout, a 300m swim in 9 minutes, carrying a 10-pound object with lifesaving kick for 25m, and supporting a 20 pound object in deep water for 2 minutes. They will be able to care for a victim with external bleeding and recognize victims that are non-breathing, unconscious, vomiting, and have obstructed airways. Swimmers will be able to perform and recognize whistle signals and perform a rescue with a towing aid.
